スマラグラス島はエメラルドの原石でできた浮島です。いつもはcochlea本島の付近に浮いている離島です。エメラルドの宝石言葉は「幸福」「福徳」「長寿」「よろこび」などの意味があります。古来より透明感溢れる緑色の光を眺めていると視力が回復するなど、目に関する言い伝えや、身に着けると森の中にいるようなやすらぎが得られ、人を健康に導く力があると信じられています。

　cochlea王国のスマラグラス島には、過ごしやすい春と秋しかありません。それも二期性ではなく場所によって春と秋が固定されている不思議な感覚の小さな島です。リゾート感覚で毎日くつろぐことのできる、ゆったりと時間が進む、とても過ごしやすい島です。

S.G Island, or Smaragdus Island, is a floating island made of emerald gemstones. It is an isolated island floating over the sea off of Plump Seashore of Cochlea’s Main Island. Emerald signifies “happiness,” “benevolence,” “longevity,” and “delight” in the language of gemstones. From long time ago, there has been a saying about eyes that people can recover good eyesight by watching clear green light. It is also believed that people feel relaxed as if they were staying in the forest, by wearing emerald which has the power to bring people good health.

In Smaragdus Island of the Kingdom of Cochlea, people have only two comfortable seasons: spring and autumn. Besides, they do not have both the seasons in everywhere of the total island, but they have either spring or autumn depending on the place in the island. So, it is a somewhat odd small island. In the island people can spend their lives feeling as if they were staying in a resort area. It is a comfortable place to live in with the time slowly passing.

　一年中多くの花が咲く岬です。とりわけライラックの花は見事です。その香りは友情や思い出を引き出してくれると書かれている本もあるようです。地元の噂では数多くの魚が集まる、釣りをする人にはもってこいの町と評判です。

❶Cape Town That Side

　It is a cape with plenty of flowers blooming throughout the year. Among Them, lilac flowers are spectacular. It is written in a book that the fragrance of the flower evokes friendships and good memories. According to talks of local people, it is a perfect town for people who like fishing.

　丘の上には巨大な石が鎮座し、どこか安心感が感じられる町です。町にはケヤキの木が散在しています。であちこちにマツバギクも自生しています。ケヤキは『幸運・崇高・長寿・不滅 ・不老不死』などの樹木言葉を持っています。マツバギクの花を見るとのんびりした気分に浸ることができます。西地区にはリンドウも自生していますが、その花を見ると長生きすると言われています。

❷Hill Town at Ease

With a giant rock placed on the hill, the town is a place where people feel at ease. In this town, zelkova trees are seen in one place or another, while matsuba-giku are growing wild here and there. A zelkova tree signifies “good luck, nobility, longevity, immortality, and eternal youth” in its language. People feel relaxed when they see flowers of matsuba-giku. Gentians grow wild in the west district. It is said that watching the flowers help people live longer lives.

町の木はオリーブと月桂樹です。ポピーの花がいたるところに自生しています。灯台の立つ春と秋に別れた岬で、海面まで島一番の高低差があります。家を建てる場所によって、海を感じる醍醐味があります。夜はどこよりも星が美しく至福の時を味わうことができます。

❸Cape Town This Side

This Town’s tree is olive and laurel. Poppies are growing wild and blooming all over the town. The cape with a lighthouse separates this town into two districts: the Spring District and the Autumn District. This place has the biggest difference in altitude in the town, comparing the hilltop with the surface of the sea. Depending on the location for building houses, people can enjoy changing aspects of the sea. At night, people have a blissful moment of seeing the stars sparkling better than any other place.

　木漏れ日の森の木はイチョウとタモが多く茂っています。秋の地区のイチョウの樹木言葉は『長寿』です。木陰に自生するアガッシュは『心休まる家庭』という花言葉を持っています。春地区の御神木は樹齢何百年ものタモの木です。木言葉は『幸福な日々』です。あちこちに自生して花をさかせるエリカの花言葉は『休息』です。静かな林と花に囲まれた落ち着くことのできる町です。

❹Forest of Sunshine Filtering through the Leaves

This forest is filled with maidenhair trees and ash trees. Maidenhair trees growing in the autumn district signify “longevity” in the language of trees. Agashes growing wild in the shade of trees signify “peaceful home” in the language of flowers. The Divine Tree of the Spring District is an ash tree aged more than several hundred years. The tree signifies “days of happiness” in its language. Heath trees which grow wild blooming here and there signify “Rest” in their language. It is a calm town

　遠浅の穏やかな海岸線が続く、ピンク色した細かいサンゴ砂のビーチです。日本の春は嵐が吹き海が荒れることもしばしばですが、この島ののんびりビーチには春の嵐が吹くこともなく、ゆっくりと時間が進みます。ジャスミンがあちこちに自生しているためか、みていると時間の経つのを忘れてしまうほどです。いつしかのんびりビーチと呼ばれるようになりました。ちなみにジャスミンの花言葉は『長寿』です。ジャスミン茶は成分のリノナールの成分によりリラック効果や鎮静作用や抗不安作用などがあるとのことです。シャスミンティーしにて飲むと、カリウムも多いので高血圧の人にも良いとされています。

❺Slow-paced Beach

This beach has a calm coastline extending along the shallow sea with a wide range from the shore. It is made of minute pink-colored grains of coral sand. In Japan, strong winds blow and waves get rough frequently in spring. But those spring storms never come around Slower-spaced Beach, where the time passes calmly at a slow pace. Jasmines growing wild here and there make people relaxing to such an extent as forgetting the passing time while watching the plants. That’s why it came to be called Slow-paced Beach from some time ago. Jasmine signifies “longevity” in its language, by the way. It is said that jasmine tea has relaxing, stabilizing, and anxiety easing effects, thanks to its ingredients of linonal. Drinking jasmine tea has an effect to heal high blood pressure due to plentiful ingredients of potassium.

　町木はナンテンの木です。ナンテンの実はお正月の庭を彩りますが、幸福をなす・あなたの魅力を心に刻むなどの言葉がある木です。花言葉は、永久・美人などです。女性には心惹かれる居住地かもしれません。ほとんど日焼けをしない秋の日差しで過ごすことができます。

❻Relaxing Seaside

The Town’s tree is nandina. The fruits of nandina make gardens colorful on the New Year holidays. Nandina signifies “become happy” or “memorize your charms” in its language. Yellow patrinias blooming here and there make people feel pleasant. It signifies “eternity,” “beautiful woman,” and so on. So, it can be said that this land is a residential area which attracts women. In this place, people live under the mild autumn sunshine which rarely causes sunburn.
